This elegant small ceramic dish was produced by Cloutier, a French ceramic workshop active during the post-war period, particularly from the 1950s to the early 1960s. The dish features an octagonal shape framed by a distinctive beaded (clouté) border, a decorative detail characteristic of mid-century French ceramics that bridges traditional craftsmanship and modern design.
The central decoration depicts a stylised floral bouquet in a vase, rendered in layered tones of blue, green and soft white against a luminous turquoise-blue background. The composition reflects the era’s taste for decorative still lifes, simplified forms and expressive yet controlled colour palettes. The glossy glaze application creates subtle tonal variations, giving the surface depth and vibrancy.
Both decorative and functional, this piece can be used as a small serving dish, a vide-poche, or displayed as a wall-mounted decorative object.
