A refined example of Gino Sarfatti’s visionary approach to lighting, this Model 2095 pendant light—designed in 1958 and produced by Arteluce—embodies the timeless balance between function, form, and innovation that defined Sarfatti’s career.
Composed of six hand-blown glass globes, each delicately suspended on individual cords, the fixture creates a poetic vertical rhythm. The transparent spheres are fitted with original aluminum diffusers and suspended from a single canopy, giving the illusion of floating orbs cascading mid-air. The composition feels both orderly and organic—rigorously designed, yet fluid in its presence.
The use of industrial materials such as aluminum and clear glass was pioneering at the time, aligning with Sarfatti’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of modernist lighting. The warm glow emitted by each bulb is softened by the curvature of the glass, making this pendant an ideal focal point for stairwells, entryways, or dramatic dining spaces.
Model 2095 is among Sarfatti’s most collectible works, exemplifying the Bauhaus-informed yet emotionally resonant ethos of postwar Italian lighting design. Fully rewired and in excellent vintage condition.
